Keep labels clear, not just short

A shorter phrase is not automatically better. The real target is a line that fits and still says exactly what it means.

Measure after edits

One extra adjective can be enough to push a title or button label over the limit. Recheck after the last revision.

Why show words on a character-count page?

Because many publishing tasks need both. A title can fit a length limit and still be too vague or too crowded.
